Salamanca is located in the Spanish Central plateau, a place with Continental climate of hot summers and cold winters. The city enjoys good warm weather throughout a long summer - from late April to late September. During this high season the temperature in the town can reach 40 degrees or even higher, but it is more usually no higher than 35 degrees. The average daytime temperature is between 25 and 30 degrees. Salamanca enjoys a lot of sun and little rain. Spring and autumn are good times to visit Salamanca although these seasons last only few weeks. The weather is generally reliably warm (about 20 degrees as indication) and sunny. Winter is a different case. From November to early March is usually very cold, seldom reaching –10 degrees. However, the city does not get much freezing weather. A sunny day with 7 degrees would be a cold winter day.
